Asian Glazed Roasted Duck

Don’t be fooled by this short ingredient list — this recipe packs in a ton of flavor. First, you season the duck with Chinese 5 spice and give it a nice roast. Then, you hit it with Yuzu Bachans Japanese BBQ Sauce and lime zest for a bright, citrusy-kick during the last 15 minutes of cooking. Don’t forget to sprinkle on sesame seeds before you serve.
Ingredients
- 4 lb. whole duck
- 2 tsp Chinese 5 spice
- 1/2 cup Yuzu Bachans Japanese BBQ Sauce
- 1 Tbsp lime zest
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet with a rack.
- Rinse duck inside and out with cool water. Dry thoroughly.
- Using a sharp knife score the skin of the duck in a diamond pattern, being careful not to cut the meat. Season the duck with Chinese 5 spice, salt and pepper inside and out. Tuck the wings back behind the breast and tie the legs together.
- Place the duck on the prepared rack and roast in oven for 1.5 hours, rotating every 30 minutes. During the last 15 minutes brush duck with Bachans and lime zest. Once the duck reaches an internal temp of 155 degrees Fahrenheit, remove from oven, tent with foil, and allow to rest for 10-15 minutes.
- Once ready to serve sprinkle with sesame seeds, slice. and enjoy!
