Pork Chops with Apples and Brown Butter

Pork and apples are a natural together. Here we add earthy sage and nutty brown butter to complement the sweet and savory flavors of the dish. The result is an entrée that’s perfectly balanced and delectable.
In a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Season pork chops with salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until desired temperature. Set aside pork chops to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Add apples and shallots to the pan you cooked the pork. Cook for 2-3 minutes until beginning to caramelize. Season with salt and pepper and keep warm.
Meanwhile, brown the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook for 4-6 minutes until the milk solids caramelize and turn a golden-brown color. Add sage leaves and turn off heat.
To serve, slice pork chops and place on platter. Place caramelized apples and shallots around pork and drizzle brown butter and sage over everything.
