Caramelized Onion and Blue Cheese Crostini

SERVES:    4

Balsamic glaze adds a depth to the sweetness of the caramelized onions here, which pair with the blue cheese perfectly. Our cranberry conserve adds a final touch of sweet that brings this appetizer to the next level of delicious!


  Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Citarella olive oil
  • 1 large white onion, sliced thinly
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic glaze
  • 1 bag Citarella crostini
  • ½ lb. Bayley Hazen blue cheese, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup Citarella cranberry conserve
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Flaky salt, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a non-stick skillet over low heat, add olive oil and onions. Cook onions for 15-20 minutes until translucent and caramelized, seasoning with salt and pepper at the end. Mix in balsamic glaze and set aside to cool.
  2. Assemble crostini and place a spoonful of caramelized onions on each, top with blue cheese and a spoonful of cranberry conserve.
  3. Garnish with some flaky salt and enjoy!
