Spicy Chili Grass Fed Striploin with Sesame Crispy Rice

SERVES:    2-4

PREP TIME:   5 minutes

TOTAL TIME:   20 minutes

This is a great entrée for those of you who love Asian flavors with a kick of feisty chili sauce. We love the texture of the crispy rice, the nuttiness of the sesames, and the delicious char on the scallions for a finishing touch.


  Ingredients

  • 2 Grass fed striploin steaks
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, divided
  • 3 cups day old cooked white rice
  • 1 tbsp white sesame
  • 1 tbsp black sesame
  • 3 tbsp chili sauce (Dumpling Daughter, Sambal, Sriracha, Chili Crisp, etc.)
  • 4 scallions, root end removed
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat 2 skillets over medium-high heat. Once hot, add 1 tablespoon olive oil to one and 2 tablespoons to the other.
  2. Season steaks with salt and pepper and cook in pan with less oil for 3-5 minutes per side until desired temperature is reached. Remove and rest for 6-8 minutes before slicing. Add scallions to pan and char while steak is resting.
  3. Cook rice in the other pan for same time flipping halfway through to develop a light crust. Add in sesame seeds and season with salt at the end.
  4. Place crispy rice on serving platter and top with sliced beef, arrange charred scallions alongside and garnish with chili sauce.
