Beef Stir Fry

SERVES:    4

We really like a good stir fry because the nature of the cooking method is fast, it’s an all-in-one dish and it’s usually full of explosive Asian flavors. This recipe hits all the marks with a nice balance of heat from the chili and sweetness from the hoisin. Citarella Stir Fry Vegetables make this a snap to prep so it’s perfect for weekday meals.


  Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • ¼ c hoisin garlic teriyaki sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Citarella olive oil
  • 1 lb beef stir fry strips
  • 1 lb Citarella Stir Fry Vegetables
  • 3 scallions, sliced thinly, saving some for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, to garnish
  • Citarella sides, for serving

Instructions

  1. Season the beef with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the chili garlic sauce, hoisin garlic teriyaki sauce, and 2 teaspoons of water, and set aside.
  3. In large skillet over medium-high heat, add oil. Once shimmering, add beef and stir to coat with oil. Cook beef for 3-5 minutes until just cooked.
  4. Remove beef from the pan and set aside. Add vegetables and some of the sliced scallions to the pan and sauté until crisp tender, 3-4 minutes. Add beef back to pan and pour in sauce, toss to coat and cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce begins to thicken. Check seasoning and adjust with salt and pepper as necessary.
  5. Place stir fry on platter and garnish with remaining scallions and sesame seeds.
  6. Serve with your favorite Citarella sides and enjoy!
