Cheese Ravioli with Sautéed Garlic and Basil

A beautiful Italian meal can’t get any simpler than this. Citarella delicious, handcrafted ravioli and traditional Grandma’s Filetto di Pomodoro sauce are already made for you. Just a quick sauté of garlic and a gentle toss and dinner is served. Buon appetito!


  Ingredients

  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced very thinly
  • 4 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb. Citarella Cheese Ravioli
  • 1 pint Citarella Filetto di Pomodoro
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Parmigiano, to serve
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat add oil and fry garlic until golden brown; watch carefully so that it does not burn. Drain on paper towel, saving garlic-flavored oil.
  2. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook ravioli according to package instructions until they are al dente.
  3. Heat Filetto di Pomodoro until simmering and toss cooked ravioli in sauce. Place on serving platter and garnish with fresh basil and garlic chips.
  4. Drizzle with remaining garlic oil, serve with grated parm, and enjoy!
